Joystick.tv Interview With NSFW Streamer Atlas Grey

Today we get the pleasure of interviewing a Joystick creator who is usually the interviewer. If you follow our socials, you will recognize Atlas Grey from his wonderful interviews from NSFW conventions around the country. Atlas has been on Joystick since 2023. If you haven’t checked out his new NSFW creator podcast, Very Intimate Podcast, you should do that as soon as you are done reading this interview.

When and why did you start your streaming journey, and what initially inspired you to join the NSFW streaming community?
AG: I began my streaming journey in 2016 on Twitch. My mother had unfortunately suffered a stroke and brain aneurysm in 2015 and the following year I was looking for extra income to help pay for the medical bills. A friend had told me about Twitch at the time and said it was a pretty good way to make extra money in my spare time and raise funds through gaming. They also said I had the personality for it. I tried it out and ended up raising over five hundred dollars. I ended up falling in love with streaming and built a small community in the process, accruing regular viewers and making friends along the way. In 2020 right before the pandemic, I’d started doing Onlyfans as another source of income while I went to trade school. Again, finding a platform I’d end up finding much appreciation for as far as building on my community and making more friends within the industry. Eventually by 2023 I wanted to find a streaming platform that married the worlds of gaming/streaming and sex work together, amongst my search through the mist that is the internet, emerged like a beacon of light, was Joystick tv, and the rest as they say is history.

Why did you choose Joystick.tv as a streaming platform?
AG: It’s literally everything I want on a streaming platform. The freedom to stream what I want and however I want is so liberating compared to any other platform. If I’m feeling myself, I might do a “spicy stream” or if not, I can just be lazy and just relax on stream in comfy clothes, and still have viewers and friends come interact with me regardless. I’ve also made way more money and held a much higher viewership on joystick constantly than anywhere else I’ve streamed in the past.

What do you enjoy the most about streaming on Joystick.tv?
AG: I’ve asked many other streamers this very same question myself at a few EXXXOTICA Expo’s and on my podcast where I exclusively stream on Joystick, and almost every time I get the same answer, “The Community”. And I cannot agree more. Even friends I’ve made at the expo’s who stream on other platforms who join Joystick tell me how much better it is than other platforms. The freedom to stream how we want is a big part of it. Every time we pop into each other’s streams or even meet at an expo it’s like a family reunion. The bonds we make are truly awesome. Sure, making money is a plus and many of us have regular jobs and can still make money, if need be, but time is one thing we can never get back. And the time we spend together on Joystick is so much more precious to me.

What video games/hobbies do you prefer to stream?
AG: My main game lately is Star Citizen, a space simulator, first person looter shooter, and mmorpg. It’s my favorite game to play. I also love Star Wars: The Old Republic, Halo, Elder Scrolls Online, and pretty much any other Star Wars game. But I also make music so sometimes I’ll stream myself working on some audio project, or editing videos from my podcast or interviews from expos to give my viewers some behind the scenes action on stream to show my creating process. Other than that, I may just watch do parties with a movie or YouTube videos if I’m not feeling so creative or not in the mood to game.

What do you do when you’re not streaming?
AG: As a single dad I typically spend time with my child the days that I have my daughter, who means the world to me. The days she’s at her mother’s house though I’m usually in “work mode” either streaming or editing. I usually try to do 12 hours streams as well. If I’m not streaming, I’m sleeping or at the gym lol. My social life is almost non-existent. I do have a regular job doing security at a nightclub/bar, but I consider streaming my full-time job at it’s what I allocate most of my time to currently.
