Joystick.tv Interview With Furry Vtuber Detocroix

Heeeya all, I’m Deto (well, Detocroix, the -croix is optional tho!) or Dettie! <3

I am 41 years old, autistic, fox furry, trans girl, vtuber, and I feel like there’s a lot of us over on Joystick! For a good reason too! I am quite shy and scared of social interactions, but I also have a little tingling fetish of exposing myself into soft-sexual situations and interactions I’ve noticed, and I love projecting my personality into the bitspace, whether or not said bitspace wants it.

I have a problem accepting compliments, and usually get awkwardly confused when people decide it’s time to shower kind words at me, but at the same time, I’m always so very taken for it <3

I make random noises while streaming without noticing it.

When and why did you start your streaming journey, and what initially inspired you to join the NSFW streaming community?

Deto: I originally did some Youtube letsplay videos in 2013 or so, but I got scared and ran away for pretty much a decade because someone wrote to me that I was speaking too silently, and I was too afraid to continue. The itch never left me, and in 2023 I forced myself to try again on Twitch, originally just a few days without voice, then with voice, then linking it to my buddies, and then I noticed I was streaming almost every day. I went from having a faceless icon, to having a pixel image swap icon, to a somewhat customized 3D model, to a fully custom 3D model.

I had the words, but I could barely speak English at the time I started, I never had a reason to use it anywhere, so I was extremely rusty. Over time I got more confident, got more used to talking, got more used to staying and not running when something went awry.

Suddenly I had streamed for a year.

Then two years.

Since 2016 I have worked as a game dev, primarily making an NSFW furry adventure game, and I always felt like I was a little bit too restricted on the big streaming platform. I loved making NSFW art, and I wanted more ways of representing myself.

Why did you choose Joystick.tv as a streaming platform?

Deto: So, I read and dug around on a lot of different platforms, trying to figure out what would be the best. I wanted something that would allow me to do a little bit more NSFW stuff than my primary streaming platform at the time did, but still not be “forced” to be completely NSFW. I still wanted to stream games primarily, just have an option for NSFW, and Joystick pretty much fit the bill perfectly.

Joystick seemed to have a very good atmosphere around it, and their pricing seemed clear and fair. The general atmosphere was also very professional, I’m a bit wary of “sleezy” sites, and Joystick is very much the opposite of it. So I decided to do a week of streaming as a test, and then go back to my main streaming site to my lil over thousand followers, maybe, at best, stream a little bit here and there when I had the mood for it, but still primarily stream on the other site…

That was on July 19th, 2025.

I did not go back to my original streaming platform, at all. My last stream there was on the day before the day I tried Joystick for the first time. Now I have 163 streams on here, that’s a stream almost every day for six months.

‘Twitch with Tits’, I jokingly call it every time one of my streaming buddies ask what Joystick is, because that’s basically it; a professional game streaming service with focus on NSFW.

What do you enjoy the most about streaming on Joystick.tv?

Deto: The mood. By far the mood. It is very relaxed, people are extremely respectful, and you’re not always expected to be NSFW. I’m not very NSFW as a streamer, nude tuber is pretty much the NSFWest I get. Combine that with body writing and drawing (on my model I mean!), and that’s my level.

Not in the mood? Just stream something SFW, that’s okay.

Wanna be spicier? Go for it!

It is very relaxing, and it never feels like you are fighting against algorithms or artificial catch-22 of visibility. Wanna play an old game? Sure, no problem! The newest and coolest? Sure! I have streamed games from the 90s, games most of the people probably don’t even know about these days, and it’s a-ok.

Also if you ever have had a technical problem on The Big Purple, you’re stuck with it, you won’t ever get any kind of help on it. Early on I had problems with my stream being choppy, when I reported the issue, I literally had a Joystick dev hop in on my stream, watch it, check stats etc, to ensure stuff was running smoothly.

It doesn’t feel like you’re a speckle of dust on a faceless platform, you’re in a place where the developers care for the service they’re running. It is honestly priceless.

What video games/hobbies do you prefer to stream?

Deto: It varies very much! Usually it goes by mood, I used to do the “hopping from game to game” to see what sticks, but currently I’ve been doing a bit more playthroughs. Like, currently, as of writing that is, I’m doing a full Half Life franchise playthrough. We played the Half Life remake, then Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, and now Episode 2 is almost done. All on the hardest difficulty, literally hundreds of deaths (I have a death counter xD), and we’ve been through so many ridiculous moments and laughs. And next I get to stream Alyx that I never got to play before!

Before Half Life, we played System Shock 1 remake on hard. It was a ride too xD

I love old FPS games (Heretic, Quake 1/2), immersive sims (Thief, System Shock, Project Silverfish), turn based tactical games (Battle Brothers), classic roguelikes (ADOM, Rogue), but I also like to challenge myself to play games I usually wouldn’t, like Fortnite (a promise I made years ago to my mod and friend) or American Truck Simulator (I barely know anything about cars and I don’t really play car games), and see if those click. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t, but the interactions with viewers still make it enjoyable <3

I occasionally do VRChat, and a few times I’ve done painting streams, either painting BattleTech minis, or painting with digital oilpaints. I do wanna do more that kind of stuff, those are always so nice and wholesome <3

I’m also a massive fan of Warframe. LR2 woo~!

What do you do when you’re not streaming?

Deto: I usually work on my game project (Hunt and Snare, there’s a link in the Joystick Arcade too! :3), hang around with my traditional artist partner, or write BattleTech short stories, or draw something, keep on modelling new clothing sets for my sona, or just play games. I usually play games before a stream, and then come back to playing games after the stream! I’m not super exciting, I’m just a nerd xD
