Joystick.tv Interview With Gamer and Artist Angora Rae Abbett
I am Angora Rae Abbett – or just Angora! An introverted exhibitionist, gamer, and artist with a BFA and MA under my belt. You’ll usually find me unraveling a puzzle game or working on a needle felting project. My streams are spicy and neurointense. When and why did you start your streaming journey, and what initially inspired you to join the NSFW streaming community?
Angora: I started streaming in 2019, but I didn’t make the transition into NSFW content until 2020. As an artist with a BFA and MA, live performance and nudity were already familiar territories for me, so bringing those elements into my streams felt like a natural evolution to bridge the gap between my art and my audience. Needle felting can be incredibly tedious, and having an active chat makes the long process much more fun and engaging!
Ultimately, I was drawn to the exhibitionist side of streaming because it transforms my work into an interactive display. I love the creative freedom and controlled communication streaming affords: I can share my niche passions with an eager audience who can participate at whatever comfort level they choose.
Why did you choose Joystick.tv as a streaming platform?
ARR: Gaming is a massive part of my life, so having the freedom to stream a diverse range of titles is essential. Compared to other platforms, Joystick.tv offers unparalleled freedom for both SFW and NSFW content. On other sites, whenever I streamed art or gaming, I was frequently met with confusion about why I was sharing those mediums in an adult space.
Joystick.tv is different—it embraces the reality that NSFW content doesn’t look the same for every creator. It’s refreshing to land on a platform where showing multiple facets of your personality and craft isn’t just accepted, but actively celebrated.
What do you enjoy the most about streaming on Joystick.tv?
Angora: The community behind Joystick.tv is easily its standout feature. Despite the wide variety of creators on the platform, there’s a shared, authentic vibe at the core that really resonates with me. The creators and viewers are helpful, communicative, and genuinely excited to build a community bigger than themselves.
On top of that, the staff is far more hands-on, approachable, and present than what you see on traditional platforms, which gives me confidence in the site’s future. Streaming here has allowed me to grow significantly as a content creator, and it’s been rewarding to watch the platform expand alongside my own channel.
What video games/hobbies do you prefer to stream?
Angora: I constantly alternate between creative streams and gaming. Needle felting has been my primary artistic focus over the past year, but I’m also eager to bring digital illustration, painting, and sculpting into my streams.
When it comes to games, I lean heavily into RPGs, point-and-clicks, puzzles, life sims, survival, cozy titles, and horror. Off-game, I love hosting chat deep-dives into cult classic films and obscure TV shows!
What do you do when you’re not streaming?
Angora: Offline, I’m deeply fascinated by mortuary science, hermeticism, and fitness—keeping both my mind and body engaged. I’m an active member of the local kink community and frequently attend expos, conventions, and events.
At home, a good portion of my energy goes toward caring for my elderly rabbits and hanging out with a friendly golden retriever. My partner and I have been together for over 13 years, with half of that spent practicing ethical non-monogamy. I’m also fortunate to have an amazing metamour who I love going on adventures with!
