Ivy Wilde Interview

When and why did you start your streaming journey, and what initially inspired you to join the NSFW streaming community?
Ivy Wilde: I started My streaming journey 9 years ago this April. I’d just finished university studying photography and journalism and struggled to get a job in a field I enjoyed. All my life I’ve enjoyed taking pictures and editing them. Growing up I’d never seen nudity as having to be explicit or something to be ashamed of. It can be artistic and subtle. So my boyfriend at the time suggested I post on Reddit in a community called Gone Wild. He realized I was getting a little depressed at home alone all the time with nothing to do but get rejected from the jobs I wanted. So I did, and I kind of blew up. I got to the top page of Gone Wild. I was inundated with messages and pings all night. Then someone approached me in the comments about camming. It all started from there really. When I realized I could earn money from this and people thought I was ‘pretty’ I couldn’t believe it. I could earn money and do photography. “This was great! This journey has led to me winning the Bazowie.” It honestly meant so much to me for many reasons, but mostly because it has been a long time in the industry, and winning Nerd Cam just means I’m finally on the right path, getting to share the “real me” with people. The world of camming and streaming has merged somewhat over the years. It really does depend on the site you choose to stream on, and what you’d like to do.

Why did you choose Joystick.tv as a streaming platform?
Ivy: I chose Joystick very recently because I love gaming. It’s that simple. Joystick is fantastic and ticks all my wants in a streaming platform. I have streamed on a few sites now and I’ve always wanted a community spirit. To create a sense of belonging for viewers in my room. A place where they can come on the days they enjoy and I’ll always say hello to them and ask about their day. I like to take an interest in their lives.

Every streamer’s room is theirs to make whatever they want. Working for yourself means you can make the rules. It’s your safe space, your internet home. Joystick has a community that I’d invite to my internet home for an evening of games any day. The more popular streaming got over the years and with the rise of OnlyFans, traffic to each room got smaller with each new model that joined the site. It felt like there were more models than members, making life much harder. Lovense made it easier for models to stream and earn money but made it almost impossible to earn anything if you didn’t have one. The pressure to be more sexual in stream even if you weren’t a very sexual model was getting worse. In turn, it changed the culture of ‘camming’. It was now about instant gratification instead of personality and community. I was already quite a sexual streamer. I had no issues with doing a public cumshow to 300 people, but that 300 was now 30 people. The dynamic in the room was somehow different. It was so quiet. I missed that connection with my audience. So, I began sharing my passion for gaming and streaming with the Lovense in allowing more interaction with the viewers. They could “distract” me from the game. I put it in quotations because weirdly sometimes it would make my aim better. XD It created this atmosphere of fun shenanigans and chaos that I LIVE for in my streams. It was also beneficial for my mental health because I no longer had time/space to listen to negative voices in my head comparing me to others on the platform. I was just doing my own thing and sharing my nerdiness with my audience. Going from a predominantly sexual model to an NSFW Streamer was a hard change to my following, one that not everyone liked. There was a struggle between the two audiences, and I needed to find a site that did both. I needed to find a “Twitch with tits”.

What do you enjoy the most about streaming on Joystick.tv?
Ivy: Joystick’s Community restored my faith in adult streaming sites. My first day streaming on Joystick the devs popped by and said hello. Some streamers on the site came to say hello and wish me luck in the stream. They dropped a few tokens to get me started and it felt like everyone knew everyone. Which was maybe a little intimidating but when I asked, “Do you know each other?’ they said, “Not really, We just chat in the Joystick Discord“. There was already a community feel and I was hopeful. I joined their discord and everyone was so helpful in getting me started. I was in shock to be honest. Years of feeling unheard by streaming sites and struggling to find a place for adult gamers and here Joystick is. Chilling out in a corner of the internet with their small staff, working hard to cater to several different varieties of streamers. They welcome you personally with open arms, provide you with interactive traffic, and traffic that is interested in YOU. Interested in who you are, what you enjoy playing, and what your hobbies are. Nudity is a bonus here at Joystick. My First show on Joystick, I was rushing around to get everyone’s tips done trying to game at the same time. When someone says, “There’s no rush, we’re enjoying you playing the game too”. I was gobsmacked. Someone else says “Here we appreciate the stream as well as the nudity” in response to someone saying, “Get your tits out”. It’s like I’d stumbled into an alternate reality. There’s even a good mix of all genders and sexual preferences, so the site feels like you’re growing as a person and learning new things. The devs listen to your suggestions and communicate back with you like your friends. It’s so refreshing, it feels like you’ve been smacked in the face with dopamine. I think Joystick is doing something a lot of other platforms have lost, connecting with their streamers as well as their members. I’m so happy to have found my new house for my home on the internet.

What video games do you prefer to stream?
Ivy: I prefer to stream any games that are going to get people interacting in the stream. If I wanted to sit and zone out into a game I’d do that off stream. I like to stream all sorts of video games, we have cozy games on Mondays. These are mostly indie-type games, essentially if it’s soundtrack is lofi I’m here for it. Minami Lane, Dorfromatik, Potion Permit, and Chill Town are some I’ve enjoyed playing recently. Tuesdays are FPS games, like Overwatch and Fortnite. NSFW/VR games are on Wednesdays, my personal favorite so far is Scarlet Maiden. I totally recommend that game. For VR games we like to play beat saber and it’s incredibly fun to be vibed whilst on a roller coaster to be honest. Thursday, we have one of my favourite nights, Retro Gaming! It’s so much fun to find out what everyone’s first game they remember playing is. Even if they claim they’re not a ‘gamer’ They always have at least one memory of a game that captivated them in their life. So far we have played some Golden Axe, Crash Bandicoot, Rayman, and Worms. Fridays are the most fun days for everyone as it’s Community Play Day. Where for just 100 tokens you can spend the evening playing games with me and a bunch of others when we get a crowd going. We have had so many laughs on Fridays in the past. Among us had us belly laughing and running after each other. Moving out and overcooked had us all hating each other. Simple games like Scrabble but with a sexy word twist, had us laughing at silly things like DO RIM UP BUM! Which means nothing to no one and you end up saying “You had to be there”.

What makes a good video game to stream?
Ivy: I think if you’re a good streamer anything can be a good game to stream. If there’s a lot of reading to a game, do voices. If It’s story rich, take a few breaks and have some discussions about it. The added viewpoint of others could change how you experience the game itself.

What do you do when you’re not streaming?
Ivy: Outside of streaming my life is pretty non-existent, to be honest. Streaming is my Job. I am a full-time streamer and content creator. I have several sites to upload to and create for as well as custom videos to make for the Loyalty Cards. I like to give people the most for their money and a loyalty card allows me to reward those who support me consistently and create content I might never have thought about. I just love being creative and learning new skills. I create my own graphics, emotes, and adverts and draw my special Wildelife club drawings. I put together all my outfits for streaming, plan themed shows, and shoot, edit, and script my videos and photosets. Sometimes I have to ask my partner Dreadlock Daddy to come help me out with some angles or fill up a dildo with fake cum for me but other than that it’s all me.

I have even made my own Cosplays from scratch in the past. I have hand-sewn an Elektra outfit from the original comics. I must write a disclaimer that, I’ve never been taught to sow. I handmade a Princess Mononoke and Arrietty cosplay from the Ghibli films out of clay and Styrofoam. I’d love to make more cosplays from scratch and if I had more free time. I’d also get back to learning pole dancing as I was getting the hang of it. This is the reason why I try to force myself to take weekends off otherwise I just wouldn’t stop!

I also have a pet rabbit, Velvet, she’s like 7 years old now and still going. I think she will outlive me at this rate. She is not one for cuddles but when she does it’s a little moment of magic. Other than trying to get my rabbit to love me, I spend my weekends playing games online with my friends, maybe some DND, and then watching wrestling with my partner. We build a den, grab a bowl of popcorn and a sneak, and settle in for the next 5 hours to catch up on AEW.

I don’t leave the house much, to be honest. World is scary. Occasionally when the four walls are driving me crazy I’ll step out into the world and onto a flight to the US to go to an award show or two. I don’t do things by half. Something you’ll come to learn if you frequent my streams. I’ve met some amazing people in America and I can’t wait to meet you fellow wanderer, did you take an arrow to the knee?
